David Canada (Fuji-Servetto) hopes to return to competition

David Canada, a professional rider for team Fuji-Servetto, is unable to get his 14th season as a pro cyclist started properly. The Spanish rider is recovering from the first preventive oncological treatment cycle, treating melanoma. The melanoma, first noted and removed in 2007,  has now extended over the underarm glands of his left arm. Canada, who is keeping up with everyday life right now, has already started having soft physical exercise. He has a strong desire to return into the international peloton, as he always enjoyed it. The Spanish rider is receiving support from the team and is guaranteed a place on the team roster or in a non-competitive role should he not be able to return to the bike.

“I’m feeling quite encouraged and I’m really eager to return to professional riding, if it’s once posible," said David Canada. "I’d not like to say goodbye from pro cycling this way, but it’s really obvious that my main aim right now is to get totally recovered. I’ve already gone from the hardest part of the treatment, and I’m feeling really good physically; thus, the prospects for the future seem to be good. The support from my team has been basic in order to get over this desease with no pressure.”

David Canada will hold a press conference for the media interested in his thoughts on Thursday at 10:00 AM. The conference will be held in the Romareda Hotel in Zaragoza (Spain).
