The second stage of the 3rd Tour de San Luis, riding from San Luis to the Mirador del Potrero Hill (1st. Cat.), was highlighted by a break at the 50th kilometre, with Prado (Brazilian National Team), Lucero (Argentinian National Team) and Lucas Sebastian Haedo (Colavita). The attack achieved a 15-minute gap over the peloton, which was more than enough to provide a sprint finish for the break. Sebastian, a renowned sprinter, clinched the stage win in the uphill finish towards the Argentinian mountain, and with it the race lead. Benitez and Del Nero, who placed 30th and 31st respectively, were the first FUJI-SERVETTO riders across the line, reaching the finish more than two minutes after the three leaders. The third stage will be held Wednesday, with a 19.8-km individual time trial in the city of San Luis.
