Taipei Show, March 17, 2009. In the main lobby atop the fourth floor escalator at the 2009 Taipei Show, a handful of special bikes were recognized by the Taiwan Bicycle Exporters’ Association. Among these notable pieces, Fuji’s new time trial/triathlon bike, the D-6.
Placing 4th overall in the “Complete Bike” category, a “Best in Show” of sorts, the D-6 also pulled in the award for best design appearance.
The complete bike judging was comprised of five categories: innovative design aspect, appearance design aspect, practicality, environmental friendliness & consumer usage safety aspect. From these categories, three special awards were given out to the highest earners in each the innovative design, practicality, and appearance design categories.
The awards were presented at the opening ceremony of the trade show by the President of Taiwan, Ma Ying-Jeou. Ideal Bike Corporation’s newly appointed President, Hermes Chang, was there to receive the award as the brand’s manufacturer.
